Default Pollen Filters

Has anyone installed a 968 cabin/pollen filter into a late model 944?

Since the KLA Industries model is compatible with the two, I assume the 968 paper filter is as well.

I ordered a pair of 968 filters. I'll let you know tomorrow.

When I had my 89 S2 it was parked outside and got lots of little leaves in the vent system. I had some leftover cut-to-fit furnace filter, so I popped off the intake covers and wired a couple of pieces of the filter media to them. Worked great! It was some sort of washable electrostatic furnace filter.

Robby told me yesterday that he just used some pleated furnace filter material. Just cut to fit.

I did it on my '87 944. Here are the parts you need:

o 944 572 905 00 Pollen Filter retrofit Kit
o 944 572 464 00 (2) Self Tapping Screws
o 944 616 105 00 Resistor
o 944 616 106 00 Resistor Cover
o 944 572 593 00 Gasket

Basically you replace the 944 heater fan cover and the resister with the 968 parts...and then the 2 pollen filters mount on either side.

How much did the Resistor, Resistor Cover, and Gasket cost?
