ok.... so I'll go with 968 sways
what should I get for the most improvement with the least investment (lol i know cheap isnt always good) but would an upgraded front sway be better than just doing the rear? The car is a DD so I dont want to go overboard.... and I don't know of any auto-xing places here

I put the 968 M030 sways front and rear on my car with everything else stock and they are a vast improvement. I still have the KYB's the PO put on before I bought the car and will probably trade them out with Bilsteins soon, I'm debating on springs rates. My car is not a daily driver but I do drive it to events and would like a semi comfortable drive, some autoX events are 150+ miles away.

What do you use your car for? What do you want it to do or not do?

I kinda think that you'd want to replace both sways at the same time with similar upgraded parts, so as to make sure that the balance would stay pretty much the same.

Can you imagine if the fronts didn't roll, and the rears did?

Also, the sway bars won't reduce the rear squat on accelleration nor the nose dip on braking. To improve that, you'll have to upgrade the springs, but you could save up and do those later, or do the springs and wait on the upgraded sways for later. Whichever makes the most sense for you.

Check into the local Porsche club's Drivers Education events. Well worth it! A chance to really learn how to drive better and how much further you can push your Porsche. More than you ever thought!

I, personally, like my 968 M030 rear bar on full still with just my 26.8mm 951 S bar in front (vs the 30 mm 968 M030).

However, my springs are balanced slightly for understeer :-( (200# front, stock T-bars) so maybe that's why I need the rear-biased sway bar set up to feel "neutral." This is all on my 83' with Koni Yellows all around, rear on the 2nd notch and front ~half way~.....I love it at autocrosses!

BTW: my 83' was my DD every summer since 2001 and it is NOT "harsh" but I do think the shocks would ride BETTER on stiffer springs. This is, ofcourse, just a hunch, I have no "knowledge" to back that up.

So any help would be appreciated. I am a newb to rennlist so, I dont get all of the acronyms!

i was thinking of 968 sways... front/back or both. and shocks. and other than that, had no idea
951 sways are a huge improvement and literally 1/3 the cost of 968 mo30 setup. In fact I have set of front and rear 951 swaybars just removed for big upgrade with entire suspension upgrade(shocks/struts/springs/t-bars/bushings/etc,etc). Also have new take of blistein rear shocks. If you want them all both sways and rear shocks will take $220 + shipping for all. can post pics if interested

If you do go with 968 mo30 fromt 30mm check out 22mm welt fully adjustable rear. Is not much more $ than 20mm and infinately adjustable. For these new you are looking $580 plus shipping, plus tax, plus kit if you don't already have rear swaybar.

Stock 968 (non M030) sways can be had cheap, there are a ton of us that upgraded to 968 M030 sways and they stock ones are just sitting around taking up space. Shipping would be a PITA so I'd look local or post in the 968 forum and see if anyone there wants to clean out some space in the garage. Anybody in the DC area that wants a set cheap and will pick up or meet me let me know.
