Car runs hot in traffic w/AC on
Well I started the 83 944 ran it for a while, and switched on the AC, blew nice and cold and both fans came on so the relay and fuses must be good. But the car does run hot in traffic at 30o Celcius with the AC on. So I might try getting a pair of 6 blade fans, as some helpful person suggested. The whole cooling system was flushed out 2 years ago.
Of course I wonder about the temperature gauge, some mornings I have to slap the pod to get it going. What would fitting an additional temperature gauge entail? One with a bulb, non electric, where would I install it?
Help gratefully appreciated,
Mike

this brings up a question of my own, under normal city driving what should the oil pressure be?

Cold it's off the scale until it warms up. But, when the car is hot, and the AC is on, then at idle, at the lights, waiting to go, the oil pressure light will flicker, due I think to low revs and hot oil. Seems to me that the AC compressor is a big drag on power, so do they all do that? When I switch the AC on, the car just reacts like I kicked it in the nuts, big grunt
