Default bremsbelag???

On the Water Temperature/Fuel Level gauge of my 1991 944S2 (German model), the "bremsbelag" sign w/ a triangle symbol lighted up today after about 30 mins. or so driving. After I turned off the ignition and restarted again, it went away but lighted up again after 30 mins. or so driving. Does anyone know what that is?

Brake lining! Means your pads may be worn out.
