Blaupunkt Los Angeles MP74 here.

You can make the buttons match the orange color of the console buttons.
Crutchfield doesn't carry it anymore, but it can be had for about $170.

I agree the older Blaupunkt's look good and were OEM, and the Becker CDR-220 is OEM and looks great. I almost ordered a factory refurbished one from Becker USA (it's $25 less than sw stereo and you get a 1 year warranty instead of 6 mo.) With the faceplate swap and cables for power, aux-in, and pre-amp out, it was going to be $400 shipped. I've heard that the sound quality is not that great though, and the Nak has better than 100 dB S/N ratio and only .005% THD. So for the same price I'm going with the CD-500 because I'm trying to make it sound as good as possible with a hidden preamp eq/crossover, separate amps and 2 hidden 8" subs. For under $200 if you want good sound with the internal amp, I think a newer Alpine or Sony (I have one in my Jeep) is the way to go. If you're just worried about looks, an older Blau would work. For good sound and looks, the Nak CD-300 may be best although I've heard the FM tuner isn't so good on the Nak's.

I have the Becker and it works perfectly for what I'm trying to do. Looks stock and sounds OK. I've had many high end systems in many of my cars over the years, but I didn't want to go that route. Besides, the brand I have liked in the past (Eclipse) because of quaility and theft-prevention, has gone super bling and I DO NOT like their styling any more. Here's a pick of the Becker installed in my 944.

Did some crazy listening today, to several units in several stores and ran across this one. Lots of features and no silver bling crap. What ya think..
