Default Balance shaft noise

my car is making a horrible screeching noise that seems to be coming from the upper balance shaft, im guessing the bearings. i have looked at parts to fix this and really have no idea what to buy. my understanding of this thing is that i can just cut the belt and call it a day ( a vibratey day) and with my budget this seems like a great plan but i do want to do it right, kinda. has anyone ran into a similar problem, or replaced the bearings on this darned thing

The balance shaft doesn't use roller bearings so I doubt that it is the source of the noise. Probably one of the belt rollers or tensioners which do use roller bearings. If you get one of those mechanic's stethoscope and pull of the front belt cover and listen (while running), you should be able to easily pin point which one is the problem.

Siezed roller, maybe? I think there is one next to the balance shaft.
