Default Confirm my thoughts- R&R of an airbag steering wheel

Basically, I'm looking to remove and reinstall my airbag steering wheel. as far as I know, disconnect the battery and let the capacitors in the wheel discharge slowly for about a half hour, then remove it, and it won't blow during removal, right?

I just did it twice yesterday. The write up in Clarks said when you first turn the car on do it from outside the car, he has seen one go off then. He has a write up on how to reset the air bag warning light too. As long as you don't connect the battery while the air bag is out of the car you should not need to reset it.
