Broken Window Switch
Hi...
I need some help on how to replace a broken window switch on the drivers door...but its the one that operates the passanger side window. Do I have to take off the door panel to get to it? Or can I just pop out the switch its self.
Who makes a similar OEM switch that I can replace it with?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Is this an early or late car?
If it is a late car, you can unscrew the plastic piece the window switch is in and then pull that off the door panel. Then simply unplug the old switch and replace with a working one.
As for getting a new one, I wouldn't bother. If you actually buy a new one they still cost a ****load, but you can usually find someone on here with some to sell, or if not then ebay.

I bought and replaced one, cost me twenty bucks or so. It's nice to be able to control both windows from the driver's side.
But what's the problem? Is the actual switch broken? Because the plate that mounts those two switches can break, making the switches come loose. That plate thing is harder to find if you have to replace it (I do), but that's pretty easy too.
To sum up, switch fix, easy peasy.

Hi Lart...
Its nice to meet you...I have read a lot about you and your posts from lurking around here for a while. Of course only good things about you
Thanks for helping me out...tonight I'm jumping on ebay and going to watch this item and make my bid towards the end of the auction. I'm in the process of restoring my car from top to bottom and of course the switch went out. I have owned my car since December of 1999 it was all original when I got it except for the timing belt, rollers, and new motor mounts. I am the 2nd owner and the car had 99,000 miles in 1999. Now its got 146,000 miles with a new fresh top and bottom end done at 140,000 miles. I love my car and plan on keeping it for a very long time.
Take Care,
Carolyn

Not to undercut lart, but if you want just the switch, I have a few. I'd like to get $10 shipped, but the fact is, $20 for all three switches and the bezels is a way better deal.

Hi Lart...are you out there?
FYI...I just bid on your window switches (racegirl944). As you can tell I never use my ebay account...my husband who is (massive_hook) usually places the bids for me through his account since he is well established on ebay for a few years with 100% positive feedback. However he is racing his electric RC on road car at So Cal in Fountain Valley tonight and won't be able to place the bid for me. So please don't be alarmed when you see I have (zero) by my name. I had to try and win the switches so I placed a bid to see what happends. If I do win...tell me what I need to do since I have no money in a pay pal account...but my husband has money in his paypal account on ebay.
Thanks
Carolyn
