Default Budget conversion to steel on F ball joint arm

For later 944 and 968s, and turbos, with aluminum one-piece arms:
It's probably out there in other forms, but the Brit publication 911 & Porsche World (issue 128-May), has a nice 4 page article on going back to steel suspension arms with swap-out new joints (like were standard until the later 80s--beginning with the 924) when the cast-in units on the original arms fail. Much cheaper. Includes suppliers of parts, and more than half the piece is well-captioned photos. With tax it cost me $8.50, but it seems worth having on the shelf--I'll put an index tab on the lead page, so I can find it when the time comes.

Wait, so you can buy a new steel arm replacement for $8.50?

A good write up is on the Arnn Worx site.

Got it last night, flipped through it... thanks for the heads-up

I'm a sucker for magazines and how-to articles.

Comments: mag is $7.75 US, issue number is 158 (white 911 on the cover)

The pics are great!

That said, it's a British mag and they use some idioms in the articles i couldn't understand. The ads are pretty, but near useless to folks on this side of the pond.

I just skimmed through it - as you may expect by the title of the magazine, it's primarily devoted to 911 and its tail-heavy successors.

In the special Q&A section, they recommend you not change the 944 cam belts yourself When I get a moment, I'll send them an email and let them know about the Arnnworx tools - pretty sure Bruce ships overseas.
