If you do that Butter make sure to get the kit that has the screws as well. Holds up a lot better than just the tape if you are getting a lip like mine.

Why bother with plastering gardening supplies to your car when there is the splitter group buy going on?

Got a big ole roll of garage trim at home depot today. The one with the best looking crosssection and stiffness only came in 30ft and white, so I will have tons extra for friends or something. And I'll plastidip it black.

Get a job and save up for a functional splitter that looks good or buy a rubber strip from home depot and get laughed at by even honda people. Seems pretty self explanatory to me.

No need to be so rude. The whole thread is about a home depot front lip, if you don't like it, go read other threads.

That "functional splitter" is not very practical. First it's made of fiberglass, not the best material for a disposable piece of bodywork. Second it's going to be much heavier compared to this solution. Joe's "splitter" will at best will just be a nice piece of body art for a street car that finishes off the bottom of the front, but most people want rubber down there if their cars see a track.

I wanted to avoid bringing up Joe's splitter since I really don't want to do anything to discourage people from buying it. I actually came close to doing it myself. Unfortunately, I am concerned about fiberglass that low to the ground. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, my el-cheapo airdam survived a tire retread blowout at speed. I'm not sure if the fiberglass one would.

That said, when I see how it looks I may still change my mind. But, for the time being, I'm going with what I've got.

BB.

I used the "garden" edging 20 years ago on my Datsun 280z and it worked awsome. I could change it out every few years for minimal $$. If you track your car regularly you learn why. The group buy piece does look pretty cool though and should work ok on the street if you are not too low.

I installed it yesterday. Not sure what I think. It doesn't look very good in the garage at night with fluorescent lighting. But hopefully it'll look nice outside lol. Will post pics after school.

Seems like someone already commercialized the idea.

Not great cell-phone pics, but you get the idea.

$30 and I have an extra 23ft of it rolled up.

Looks good. Only taped on, or screws too? I have a roll of the same stuff, except mine is black. I may give it a go.

Just taped on with some scotch "outdoor mounting tape" says rated to 5 lbs. The stuff sticks on there real good, don't think it will fall off anytime soon if at all.
