Do you think it would be better to have an ITB setup like the 968 Turbo RS where they lead into a manifold? OR would it be better to leave them all open individually and have no connection at all?

But leaving them all open has them sucking in hot air form under the hood.

I plan on doing this project to a spare manifold that I have and the GSXr ITB's.

You could go crazy with a 931 hood and put a functional intake under the scoop...

Thought about that but its on the opposite side.

I did some research and there are intake manifold "boxes" that direct cold air to the ITB's and you can put a cone filter at the other end. I'm thinking of building my own and routing a big cone filter under the nose panel to get the coldest air possible.... either there or put it where th stock pick-up tube goes and block it off from the rest of the engine.

I think the ITB's will still work the same and the box should also cut down on intake noise (but I do like the sound).

Filterig the air is a top priority here.

You could cut the scoop out, along with a corresponding sized panel out of the other side of the hood and swap them and weld them back into place.

welding is not my specialty...

A hood scoop would make things easier.

Take the hood off completely and get a very small cone filter for each TB and jam it in the opening.

UPDATE.

I just stumbled across an Universal Individual Throttle Body kit at an Austrailian Tuner's Website!!!

http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...roducts_id=121

Based upon my findings and numerous drafts on paper, the most difficult issue I am running into is getting the Bosch L-Jetronic to adapt to this setup. As most of you know, because the ITBs sit so close to the intake ports of the cylinder head, it can be difficult to sustain a satisfactory vacuum to maintain a proper idle, as well as vacuum to the fuel regulator and damper, as well as the brake booster (MOST IMPORTANT!).

I'll continue to see what ways I can find a more effective way of getting the proper vacuum to not only the areas mentioned above, but the idle stabilizer valve as well; this is ESSENTIAL in the Bosch L-Jet setup on the 944.

Getting the proper vacuum is easy, you just have port after each throttle body that are joined together into a common vacuum supply. Just like the original manifold.

You could also do what they do with the new turbos and run a pump to make vaccuum.

I found the vacuum issue not a huge problem for me... my thoughts have gone to what to do about the AFM??? How will the computer read the incomming air without it?

Still looking for an alternative for that...

For a stock car, build an airbox plenum which attaches to the ITB's, run an intake pipe down to the AFM, plumb that to the filter, it's easy.

How hard would it be to change to a speed density setup with a Map sensor?
