Question How do I use this diagnostic tool?

I have had this for a while now collecting dust since one of the PO's left this in the diagnostic port of a previous 944 I owned, and its time to put it to use. I know it plugs into the diagnostic port in the back corner of the engine compartment and gives you blink codes etc. Can anyone tell me how to use it? I don't know if the switch is supposed to be up or down, when the green light is supposed to be on or the red light, how long to run the engine before checking the codes etc. And also is there a code list somewhere? Any help would be great.

I've been looking for one of those for months!!!

Can I have it?

Oh, when the switch is one way the green light lights up and thats when you can adjust the idle. The red light is your blink code light... don't know what the codes are... never been able to find them...

Go to Lindsey Racing on the web. Not only do they have directions on how to build your own in their Tech Garage, they have the procedure and all the blink codes listed. A friend built one for me - works like a champ. The factory version you have works the same way.

The green light tell you that the correct pins are connect to cancel out the Idle control valve and it cancels out the wide open swith on the TPS (or so I'm told) This is the same as bridging pins B & C to adjust the idle on 85.5 and newer 944's.

Guess I'm gonna build one To Lindsey Racing!!!
