Default grinding noise from clutch area at slow speed

any ideas? I was driving it harder than usual last night, and for a while it just plain would not go into any gear, like shifting into a brick wall. Today I can shift into gears fine, but there is a grinding noise that comes from the firewall area, I dont think its coming from the back. Any Ideas? Tell me what I broke It only happens at almost walking speeds, but annoying nevertheless, and does not sound healthy for the car. Thanks!

Maybe the clutch slave cylinder is on its way out.

I once had a clutch release bearing fail. It was in a BMW E30, but besides that detail, it made a grinding type noise when the clutch was depressed. It was OK when engaged. It got progressivly worse over about 1000 miles and one day, the clutch would not release at all. The pedal would not push in at all.

It makes the grinding noises when the clutch is not pressed in. So I'm thinking its a bearing somewhere. It shifts fine, but when the throttle is quickly released in second, it grinds VERY hard, until the car slows down lower than 2000rpm

The torque tube has bearings in it. Maybe one has failed. Don't know how to diagnose however, I have never heard a bad one.
