Default Shp just changed the oil..it smoked on startup

As the title says, I had the dealership where I work change the oil bcause i though that is something they couldn't screw up. well on intial startup it started really rough first off. Secondly it smoked on startup and then slightly afterwards going on down the road. It doesn't appear to be smoking now, I will be leaving here in a few mins to grab a bite to eat and I will check then to see if it smokes again.

Oil level is fine, Oil filter is on tight. I just can't firgure out what caused it to smoke

Maybe the put a little too much oil in. If that is the case it will burn off causing a little smoking. Should not last too long. JM$0.2

As far as I know they put 6.5 quarts in. We ordered 7 quarts and they gave me back a half quart?

Smoking from the exhaust or under the hood? Could have spilled some when pouring into the fill tube (i do it all the time) or it could be burning off from when the oil filter was removed (unlikely).

It came out the exhaust. It looked like a 911 starting uo and nice white with a tint of blue smoke out the back

My last car (Mazda MX-3) smoked like hell after every oil change. It always went away after a few days.

Sounds like they overfilled it.

And this is a prime example of why you always change the oil yourself. If you've absolutely gotta have someone else do it, watch him like a hawk
