Default So what tires do you have for street use?

Curious to see what the various tires are that folks are using and their feedback.

I've got a set of Kuhmos that were on the 951 when I purchased it. So far I'm not very impressed. They have a lot of tread life in them but are the absolutely noisiest things on the planet! They seem to have decent grip and I suspect have decent tread life too.

Maybe I'll just trash the #$% out of them and move to a tire that a) is quieter, b) won't break the bank and c) has very good performance and tread life.

best tires ive had were sport pilot michelins- also had some nice Toyo's cant remember which but they rocked as well. Running pirelli asimetrico p-zeros right now, not bad, run flat. Love my RA1's too.

I run S03's, but as they no longer produce them I've been buying up all the used ones I can find for cheap before making the switch to RE050A's. Also run PS2's.

Have a look at the BFG g-force Sport. Fits all of your criteria.

+1 THat is what I am using. I just put them on last month. They are excellent tires for the money. Very grippy. Someone in a similar, earlier thread mentioned they have tread life issues, but the tire rack matrix indicates otherwise. .02

+1 on the g-force sports, I had those on my old car. Very good tire.

I have Yoko ES100s now, and they are really grippy. 275s rear, 225s front.

I have toyo proxes tpts on my car now, don't have really anything to compare them too other than the old bf goodridge tires which sucked in comparison. They are pretty decent in the rain / dry but they seem to be a little noisy but I don't really care.

Ii have the g-force sports... Im getting close to worn out in one summer and 3 autocrosses.. maybe 8-10k miles.. I'm thinking to look elsewhere for my next set for something with better treadlife. Not cost efficient for me to spend 400+ for tires + mount/balance to use for one summer.

Goodyear Assurance. They're horrible for grip compared to summer tires (decent against all-seasons). Also rated for 80,000 miles- I'm expecting 35 from the backs.

Ridiculous price ($640 or so all done at a shop) for what I got (low grip, so-so treadlife). Then again, they were on a sports car. For a Camry or something you'd drive normally, I'd recommend them.

Hancook S2's and I love them! I actually use them on the track as well from time to time and I love them there as well. My instrutor buddies can't get over how well they grip!
