Nitto 450's - ok tires for the price - have not tire them in rain or snow - Tires are used on '89 3 Speed Automatic
I meant "tried" not "tire" them in rain or snow

I am lovin my G-force sports, Havent had them on for any length of time tho, only a month or so. IDK how you guys who say these have bad tread life use them, but I drive VERY spiritedly and they are wearing nicely. No burnouts or drifting for my ride, and I havent autocrossed or done a track day yet. But my guess is that these tires will last a long time if I don't abuse them too much. They are only street tires anyway. If you're looking for extreme treadlife, buy something with no traction.

You arent going to ever find a tire that is:
1)Quiet
2)Grips well
3)Has long treadlife
Everything that everyone will tell you is entirely subjective to their car and their roads, and their driving expectancies. I would say talk to the tire company, but I know from experience that they will not release much useful data about their tires to you. I have found that the quality control Japanese tire companies have are not as good as Goodyear,BFG,Firestone, and Michellen's. Some Japanese tires are very good, you just have to choose the right models. Others have bad qualities pertaining to the uniformity of the tire and you will never be satisfied, especially if you push them hard.

My personal favorite, at the moment, for the same criteria happens to be the BFG g-Force Sport. I don't know about the reports of poor treadwear. I have gotten excellent wear charateristics from mine and anticipate long life. I do not baby my tires when I drive. I expect good grip and I will push moderately hard even on the street. I've also used these tires for a couple of autocrosses and a full day at the track (Nelson Ledges / last years 944Fest). For the cost of these tires - the grip and treadwear are both exceptional. Also I've noticed no noise from these tires - though this is not a concern of mine.
As for quality control of the manufacturers listed - I have to disagree with your comments. Bridgestone has quality controls as good or better than the other brands listed. Yokohama also makes fine tires. To generalize that the Japanese brands are lacking when compared to the brands listed (Firestone being a prime example) is not well founded. You may find it interesting to learn where many tires are manufactured these days. The brand name no longer guarantees a particular point of origin.
Sorry for the rant. I tend to take tires very seriously and make sure I do my homework before buying them. I've got a fleet of several race and rally cars so tires are critical to every type of surface and event I run. With 25+ years of racing experience, owning over 30 sets of wheels and tires for my cars, and testing many different tires in my day job - I think I've got a little experience from which to draw. YMMV
