Default Name your mechanic!

There's a "name your state" thread going on, but it occurred to me that it might be useful for people to offer advice on where to get repair work done. Where do you take your car? Who do you like?

For instance I'm in Toronto ... where's a good place to take my 944?

(perhaps I should note for the record that no guarantees are implied by this thread)

There is a building at the end of my driveway where my mechanic does all his work. He takes his sweet *** time but usually the job gets done right. Best part is, he gets paid in beer!

I usually do my stuff, but for jobs I don't have the time or space to get done...I take it to Greg Lavelle in Oak Ridge, NC. Guy knows his stuff, and he only charges around 60 bucks for labor...best prices around!!

I do all my work except for 2 occasions. In Tempe, AZ, there is a place called Stuttgart Southwest. They do great work and are reasonably priced.

Me myself and I.

I can however tell you one of the worst Porsche repair shops in NJ. Stay way clear of Bergen Imports in Cliffside Park, NJ.

I have had expirience with them and seen them simply butcher a few cars of friends. They are like a plague.

And besides that, managment wise a group of apes could run a shop better.

I do what I can.
My Dad works at a Porsche place though, he does everything I dont know how to do (which is alot). Factory Werks in Huntington Beach, Ca. I know, I know what your going to say but they really do great work. My Dads been working on Pcars for 15 years and the owner a little longer. Theyre the kind of shop that will fix you broken door handle or check the back to see if they have some spare nuts or bolts that your car needs, because it hurts them to see a Porsche hurting. ha
