I took a 5 inch long 2 inch wide piece of carbon steel, drilled 2 holes in it, unscrewed the two retainers that hold the weatherstripping in place (they are on the back of the pillar that broke, they are undone by allen wrenches) put this piece in it that i drilled the two holes for these allen screws, rescrewed the allen screw in through the plate i just made and tidied it all back up. I then undid both of my roof motors and made it a manual top car. Best thing ever did!
Thanks

someone may have covered this, but there are hold covers on the sides in the rear. just insert your socket and loosen to go to manual, been that way for years for me.

I have a 1990 cab with broken struts on roof. Have found a competent welder. Would like to convert to a manual roof. I don't have a manual for the car. Can anyone send me info or diagrams on how to achieve this. My email is p.kuracina@sympatico.ca.
Thanks

FYI, mine was broken and repaired by bolting in a thick aluminum strip and it has not failed since (several years). I do oil all the moving parts periodically and can hear the difference in less resistance and smoothness. It is still powered.
