Default Stupid newbie questions #9382 & #9383

Question one: I bought me a set of Euro diamond cut headlight type dealies. They arrived in the mail today, but before I got to installing them (they didn't come with instructions) I realized that in addition to the usual prog-like plugs, there's a blue light dealie with wires coming out. What's the deal with that? To what do I connect those wires?

Question two (and this one's really dumb): it's about the heating system. Okay, I know there's a **** that controls temperature, and a **** that controls fan intensity, and a button that turns on the air-con, and a button that hits that defrost function, and a button that recirculates the air ... my question is, what the heck do the two sliders do?

First question, I have no idea either.

Second, the slider controls the amount of airflow into the cab, the upper slider to dash/windshield vents and the lower to the foot wells. If you want all of the air to your feet, top slider full left and bottom full right.

Hope this helps, Dean

Aha! That makes sense. Thanks for that.

Hopefully someone can explain the headlight situation to me ...

I have the same headlights on my car (they were installed when I bought it); I believe they have an extra bulb that lights up the enclosure in blue, if you want, I can check out how they are connected tomorrow morning...

Light up the enclosure? Why in hell would I want that? What am I, some seventeen-year-old with his first Honda?

As far as the first question goes,

The blue light is an accessory.... it's part of the HID propaganda that's been going on for a while now..

it's designed to "Simulate" the light that an HID puts out, while actually just being another RICE-CESSORY ....

Put REAL HID's in your car. not a blue light bulb lol

OT: I just got some nice stickers on my car, they gave me at least 15% more power.

Dude, don't shoot the messenger. indefactorX is right, they are supposed to look like HIDs, I personally hate mine...

I've seen the numerous threads on some HID work for these cars, and it's not simple to say the least. Most HID setups cannot take the abuse of flipping up and down like they would have to, so a fixed headlight would have to be used, or a setup like Mike (MPD47) has.

As far as the diamond cut headlights go. You mention not wanting to be some "17 year old", yet you bought the diamond cut lights in the first place? I have a set of 7x6 in my truck with Luminics Titanium whites, and it's the closest thing to HID you can get with Halogens. Don't talk about rice and being a "kid" when YOU bought the headlights yourself. Go look at the price of Acura TL projectors, and then you'll know why I don't have REAL HIDs in my truck!
