Default Where do I mount the 951 intercooler in my S2?

I am purchasing a supercharger for the S2 finally and I plan on running intercooling along with it.

Can any of you gentlemen please show me where I would mount the factory 951 intercooler?

Do I have to get rid of my airbox to make fit?

Should I go aftermarket intercooler like speed force racing or would the factory intercooler be sufficient?

I will be having custom plumbing going from the intake manifold to the intercooler so no worried there I think. What would I have to look out for when finding a spot for it?

Pics would be appreciated.

Thanks

It goes under the header panel, the thing with the Porsche emblem on it.

The intercooler will fit where your airbox is and you'll have to run a cone filter.

Hmmmmmm cone filter. blech! Any other possibilities to keep the airbox? I mean the Turbo has an airbox and intercooler in the same spot. They don't run cone filters?

If you are going to be adding a SC you're going to need to repipe the intake anyways so just toss the old filter box, put the IC in there, and use a cone filter or build a new air box.

Run a 951 style intercooler, and from the throttle body, run a semi-large radius 90deg bend going to a cone filter behind the driver's side headlight, similar to what this guy did.

^^^Ah, yeah I saw Lindsey racing makes a pretty sweet fiberglass seperator for that cone filter. Should keep temp cool as it has a rubber gasket sealing it from the engine bay. Nice guys thanks

Most cars will only see temps a few degrees warmer than ambient above 30mph. Idling around town, will be hotter, but then you're not under boost then.
