JB Weld will surprise you. Make sure to fill the plug and then overlap depending on is it in tension or compression. Used JB Weld to secure a nipple to plastic tank end on Porsche 94r radiator. It has been good for 4 years. All contact surface has to be roughed up to increase adhesion

After reviewing a few videos like
I think I decided to just go with a helicoil. Every video I could find had JB Weld failing at a fraction of the target torque spec and an even smaller fraction than the failure strength of base threads or bolt.
Feels like a safer bet, and I don't see any reason I won't be able to get one in there. Will report back next week when I take a crack at it.
