Default Hatch Pins

The Hatch pins on the 944 are made to be adjustible. etc... mine are rusted in, and won't adjust,, so the rattle drives me nuts. I undid the 2 screws holding the small assembly piece in and Im trying to find new ones. However my search on the internet has left me high and dry. Or i dont know what im looking for...

So basicly i need a place to buy the Pins and the block that bolt up to the bottom of the hatch glass. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Exactly what your looking for. Just put these on my car, hatch no longer sticks and opens with the electric release finally. Dont need to shut the car off to open the damn hatch anymore!

My old ones were basically rusted into the housing. I would recommend taking the entire housing off (you will need a T5 triple square or CAREFULLY use a 5mm allen key). Soak the stud in PB Blaster. I snapped the stud off mine and had to get a new lock nut (only $8). But i did have to live with a rattling hatch for over a week.

Mine were rusted in place also. I broke them both trying to remove them. I had to drill them out and tap the treads for the new ones from sharky.

Haha, thanks guys.

Yeah, I ran into the rusted nut prolem (that sounds kinda dirty) with a customer's car this past weekend. I could tell I was just going to break something so I stopped and told him we need to find some good used mounts before we go any farther.

But yeah, they work great - dad's, brother's, and my daily all have them installed!

Oh, and I want to add - I actually did call Paragon after I made these things and had been selling them for a few days.

Not only are mine nicer than stock - THEY ARE ACTUALLY CHEAPER THAN OEM!

Have you seen these things installed? I ditched the triple-square stuff for stainless hex...

How do you adjust the height of the pins? My old ones have a slot for a screwdriver, these dont seem too.

I think only the early cars had the slots, my 924S had them, same with my friends early '85. My '87 and his two '89s dont. I used a pair of channel locks on the non threaded portion to turn them to desired height and had to do the same with the nylock nuts (only thing i had available) for the lock nuts. I did nick the nice finish on them a little...but my car aint no show car!

You have an early 944 with the slot, I copied the later style that has none to keep the costs down.

The thing is, if you clean up the mount that the pin screws into - you won't ever need to put any more than finger-torque on it. The only reason these things get stuck is because they rust........ mine do not.
