Default Engine lift ring mount points with no cam housing

The motor in the parts car is stripped down to just the block and bottom end now... I want to pull it out of the car this weekend. I can easily rebolt the front lift ring to the alternator mount point, but where can I bolt up a lift ring on the rear of the engine?

I have used a spare lifting ring attached to one of the bell housing bolts in that same general area. Was going out the bottom though and onto a transmission jack.

Eric, why not put the cam housing back on. :P

I was going to post that earlier, but wanted people with real ideas to chime in first.

Eric, when I pulled the block from up top, I just put one of the bellhousing mounting bolts in and used that.. using a bracket might be even better.

Darren, putting the cam housing back on would mean putting the head back on too

I know, I was at his house when he pulled the cam housing. I was just giving him a hard time. I think the two Guinness I left is compensation for my smartassery.

Yeah, Darren has a free pass on this one. Besides, he needs the random tools I have collected when we do his cam housing gasket next month...

and I have been a good caretaker for those Guiness you left behind.... they didn't last too long. It's easy to consume two beers when removing exhaust and a busted old head.

engine is pretty balanced if you justgo around each engine mount arm.. granted maneuvering it out ofthe car that way may not be easy.

That will likely work fine... I'll be dropping the motor down to the ground and lifting the car over it. No reason to pull the old junky radiator and 3 blade fan... that crap is going to the bone yard with the chassis.
