My 944 Project - UPDATE - aftermarket airdams? filling the bumperpad gap?
After many years of using Rennlist forums to solve my 944 problems I've decided to join up and pay for a membership. It's the least I can do to say thanks for all of the great information.
I also thought I'd introduce you all to my 944 project. It's an 86 944 that I picked up a few years ago. I've been working on making it "perfect". You'll notice that the exterior of the car has been modified a bit. When I got the car the bumperettes were gone, holes filled in, and painted over. The door handles had also been shaved and now must be opened by remote, and it came with a Saratoga top . As for the interior I've replaced most of it: dashboard, seats, console, 10 speaker door panels(with alpine amp installed under the passenger seat), etc, etc... When it comes to mechanicals there are too many parts to list, but the highlights are: I've added the larger sway bars from a sport package car, it has 16" Fuchs, new torque tube, new water pump, T-belt, and I recently put in a 968 motor and a turbo transmission with external cooler (and new CVs of course).
Since a picture's worth a thousand words here are a few to check out:

Haha, the dead battery is a pain in the rear It goes something like this: Open trunk with the key, climb through to reach the hood release, jump car. Not the most elegant procedure, but it works.

That is the cleanest urine sample yellow 944 I've ever seen! Hehe just kidding about the urine part. I think yellow brings out more lines on the 944 as well as a motorsport look!

Im in San Francisco - we should meet up sometime. If you live in Emeryville, you must know about EASY. My friend runs that place and he always gives me a good deal on new and used stuff alike. If you don't know about EASY, it's a Porsche salvage yard on Harlan off 40th. Go check 'em out and tell them Arash sent you.
Welcome! I hope to see your variocam powered banana at the next fun-run.

Looks good!
But what's with the engine? That doesn't look like any 8v na I've seen! Or did I miss something in an earlier post...?
edit: nevermind... I did miss the part about the 968 engine!
BB.

There was a PCA autocross today, I've been waiting for it, and it had to F'ing rain today!!!!
I've planning to repaint my mom's 944 and I've been thinking about different colors. I never thought yellow worked well on a 944, but the shade of your car works quite nicely. I might have to copy it... but I think my mom is set on silver.
