Default Wideband says im running rich???

On my '83 944 im running an LM-1 wideband to keep an eye on my A/F ratio. It says that at startup im running 11.3-12.7 and when the car has been driven and is warmed up it's running 14.2-15.2

I have a Wilks chip in it that he says should make it run around 12. Any idea's about if there may be something wrong???

It has all new injectors, new FPR, new fuel filter, magnacore wires, new plugs, msd blaster coil, cap and rotor. Could it be the spark not being enough to burn all the fuel? Or maybe the fuel damper needing replaced?

Ive even switched the adjustment switch on the side of the DME to -6% fuel which didnt make much of a difference if any at all.

Thanks for the help

you are kind of all over the place with what you are saying.... the 11.3-12.7 is idle? and late after you have driven the car, idle is 14.2-15.2?

the 14.2-15.2 is what you should see at idle when warm. when you see the 11.3, it's because the car isn't warmed up yet. and just so you know 14 is LEANER than 11.

Sorry for being all over the place. I think I just confused myself
I think I get it now, sorry for the dumb question. So basically the smaller the number the richer it is, correct? and the larger the number the leaner it is?
Im going to richen it up, again sorry 35 days till graduation and a buttload of hw/test/projects = brain malfunction

yes, you are correct...higher number = leaner

don't richen it up... their is no reason. 14-15 is what idle is supposed to be.... expect 13-14 for partial throttle driving.... don't expect 12s until WOT at redline

14.7 is stoic- basically the most efficient spot it can be. Running 12 is alittle rich. My turbo will be rich when i start it up until it gets warmed up, then 14.7 on the dot. Thats what the 02 does, tries to keep the system stoic.

On idle, cruise and light loads AFR 14.0 to 15.5 is fine, but WOT it should be ~13 on NA's and 12.0-12.5 on boosted cars.
Remember, that is ONLY a ballpark, precise AFR depends on what the engine likes the best and it can be tuned only on dyno if maximum torque on each lodasite is the goal.
And drieavbility and max torque on lower loadsites don't usually go together.
