Default Tire question, flat spot?

I have brand new tires, the car has been parked in the garage for about 8 days.
Its been pretty cold the last week and the car is parked on a cold concrete slab.
I backed it out of the garage to go for a little spin today and as soon as i started rolling forward in 1st gear the car hops as if it has a bent wheel.
It was very noticeable at 35 mph, and at 60 the steering wheel shook like crazy.
After about 30 min of driving it was almost all gone but still there a little.
Can you get a flat spot on all four tires by just letting it sit for 8 days, and will it work its way out after a long drive?
Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Depends on the tires. The old rule of thumb was that you had to get the tires as hot as they were when parked to get the flat spots out. How cold was it?

I dont recall having this issue summer time.
Its been in the mid/high 20's all week. The garage floor gets pretty cold overnight, could that be a contributing factor?

it takes a lot longer than 8 days to flat spot tires from siting. did you have your tires mounted 8 days ago or was it last summer ? what some times happends is the tire store uses soapy water to mount tires . the soapy water will get into the tire from mounting and will freaze in cold temps. and when you drive your car it will feal like there out of balance , it only takes a little ice in side your tire to do this .

David, the ice theory is spot on however we haven't had freezing temps for a while.
They put the tires on about a month ago, i have about 80 miles on them.
The weird thing is the tires felt better after 20 miles, the hop was still there but not as sever as the first couple miles. Maybe i need to drive the car for about a 100 miles to get the spot out?

Take the tires back to the shop and demand that they inspect them. Say the problem was there the second you got them mounted and would like them inspected. Couldn't hurt.

Oh, and you don't drive your 944 enough. If you did, you wouldn't be worrying about flat spots!

My car has sat in the garage for up to 2 weeks in cold temperatures and I've never had a flat spot problem (Yoko ES100's).

Could the shaking steering wheel be bad ball joints?
