Oil pressure problem...

Part No 944 101 181 01 is a guide sleeve. I believe this goes in the oil cooler and can't tell where the part you need goes. Looks as if it goes in the block so this would be the incorrect part.
I believe you need to remove the oil cooler and take a closer look and post some more pictures. It looks like someone tried did not have the oil cooler aligned properly and tried to use something besides an alignment tool to align it. The old saying "if it don't fit, don't force it" applies here.

It's not that clear in your pic but your guide tube (OPRV bushing) that mounts in the oil cooler housing/block looks damaged. You can replace it if necessary. I think you will have to take the oil cooler apart to really see what's going on and fix it right once. The pics look like something is damaged down at the base of the tube or a seal is wedged. The part number posted above is the correct one. Here's the removal/installation instructions:

I think that we are going in the right direction!
I took a few more shots and BTW, all the pictures that I've posted are with the oil cooler removed.
Is it possible that the car was simply missing the guide sleeve? If I look that the removal instructions, I should be able to remove it with a pair of grip pliers... Impossible, there is nothing sticking out of the block. Although, if the car was in fact missing this piece, the OPV was not lining up properly which cause the ware of the seal inside the block...

Oil pressure within 2 secs after cold start!!!! Not only that, the oil pressure when the motor is worm stays just below 3 and it used to stay below 2 I'm using a fully synthetic 5W50 oil.
All I did was change the o-ring on the OPRV. The famous guide sleeve was I believe for the older three piece OPRV. Good, nothing missing!
Thanks for your help guys
It's really nice to hear that engine run now that the warmer weather is back.

Money Pit:
I am wondering why that is important. The reason I ask is that my sender stopped working a day or so after I changed oil and put a purolator in there. Thanks.

Oops... Sorry, I had not noticed that you were asking about the oil filter... Since the oil filter is upside down, some after market ones are not designed to retain the oil when the engine is not running. I could be wrong an if I am, please correct me. I always use the genuine Porsche filter.

I always stick to the Mann or Mahle brands. I do think that the wix filters have the check valve. As far as the sender not working, check the wires that connect to it. When you removed the old filter you dumped all kinds of oil down on to the wires.
