Dal,
Drop a PM to Tinman944. He just took apart my 924S engine to put in turbo springs and my stock ones where just fine. See if he can help! If not, I can get you new ones as well. - Jay

Jay,

That is the scary part...new! I did not realize the cost new per set, 1 valve. 40 - 53.00!
How can a 951 spring be used on a 944na? If it works, they are much cheaper. I wanted to do all the springs until I saw that I need to become a prostitute to do it.

I will check tinman out and thanks for the lead!

Are yours broken or just out of spec? If they are out of spec you can shim them. Turbo springs work just the same as na ones just the spring rate is a little higher. Depending on how soon you need them I have some at my parents house.

One broken, one very suspect, both inners. I would like to know why a 951 spring set is 30.00 less than a 924S! No hurry but right now is fine!......that help?

So what effect does a higher rate have?

Thanks..

Last time this came up it was a difference in brands, NA was OEM and the turbos were aftermarket. Effects of higher spring rates won't really be noticible but the valve will close a little faster and tighter, cam wear will be accelerated, other than that nothing. If you do go with turbo springs make sure you do them all, don't mix match.
