I am considering commisioning a sign for the 944 saying, :"This is a 4cyl car and just because I am red and a Porsche there is no reason to feel threatened in your overblown V8. Honestly, I do not care that your car will be practically worthless in a couple of years. Truly, I care not that you have extremely small private parts. To tell the truth, your acceleration after the corner (maybe, 1-200m after) was amazing. Left me in your wake without a doubt! BTW. Did I tell you I took the roundabout in 4th gear? Sorry about that. I'll try and change down next time!"

Of course, it may take some time at speed to read all the above. I may just change it to: "D***head!"

Why do people who see a Porsche about to overtake them have to speed up, try to race [ain't gunna happen baby!] and act like idiots?

Happens to me every commute. Divided h/way, 100km zone (60MPH), someone sitting in the fast lane (R) alonside a car in the left. Get the chance, zip past using the ledgendary acceleration of the 944 Porsche, , and then they use the V8 to take me again and show how 'manly' they are by zooming into the distance. Then I gain another 100m on them going round the next roundabout. So it continues.

Anybody, Sharky?, got any good tips on how to mount a concealed 50cal in a 944?

I despair for drivers everywhere.

End Rant. Sorry.

Beeg - g'day! Drink beer and be happy! It's insane jealousy that your "old" car has, and always will have, more class.

Heh, it's so common, even more if I drive my wifes 924 NA. But I cured this one and the only way: I turbocharged it and funny thing is there's not so much "sayers" there anymore. They got their doors blown off

No one around here knows what my car is, so the only people who try and race me are those who know the car. Seems to be a non issue for me.

The only cars racing mine are the other ones in my garage on jackstands. So far, it's been a tie...

You're in bloody Australia! Get some of those Mad Max mods for your car!
Weld on some metal plating and guards, some old 50cals to each side of the roof and hood, spray the car primer black with just a bit of red on the front! :P

I've wondered why people say that I have issues with my private parts...
I really don't

Maybe, but it'll walk your 944 and your 951.

You must have missed my post about being a nitrous junky.

I've made it a point to get something from every point in the spectrum. When I realy have absolutely no where that I need to be, ANY time soon at all... I take the VW Bus. If I want to go to the beach, the Bus works well too.. but so does the Solstice. One will get me there in 30 minutes, the other in 10. Depends on how much of a rush I'm in.

The Porsche 944 will be an awesome weekend car to just have fun in. The Fiero... it was my first car. And it handles like it's on rails, and with the stroked and modified 3.2, it holds it's own.

If I'm really feeling competetive, and I just don't want to lose against anyone, no matter what, I've got the 81 TransAm with the 1969 Oldsmobile 455 big block (stroked to 468 with all forged internals, 68 Hurst / Olds "C" heads, Toronado 455 "K" intake, 850cfm QuadraJet, Joe Mondello cam, etc...).

And then... if I'm really stressed out and want to relax, but run mid/high 14s while relaxing at the same time... I take the rocket couch, a slightly modified 2002 Crown Victoria (all the cop stuff, some Marauder stuff, some Mustang stuff, and a Grand Marquis LSE exhuast to keep it quiet) with bench seats, column shifter, and more leather than a cow pasture.

I'm REALLY looking forward to getting the Porsche done though. I know it won't be ***** to the walls fast, but I can already feel the smooth, sure footed ride, and I've only driven it around the cul-de-sac.

Oh, and if I want to feel whipped... I'll ride shot-gun in my wife's convertible New Beetle to the grocery store.

2002 Ford Crown Victoria LX-P74
1987 Pontiac Fiero SE / V6
1984 Porsche 944
1981 Pontiac TransAm WS6
1973 Volkswagen Type-2 Transporter
