Saw some impressive numbers coming out of 996 engines on a dyno. Two track prepped (one was a DE only car, the other was a C-Class PCA Club Race car) X51 optioned 3.6 engines were well over 300 at the wheels; one was over 320, the other was in the teens. The claim was no internal mods, just exhaust.... Regardless, I was surprised to see them make those numbers.

You can get a new carrera S with 420hp. That is, naturally aspirated hp.
Modded vs stock is always an interesting arguement. Even a 911 3.2 might beat a heavily modded 951 if the track is long enough - I mean, the 951 has to break eventually, right?

That's 5hp more than the 911 GT3 makes and a carrera S is a lot cheaper to buy.

I'm just laughing at how V2 started a 3-page debate involving a car 20 years newer than the two that were originally discussed.
Cause, you know, armchair drag racing is what we're all about, instead of discussing tech stuff and selling parts.

+4 to The DareDevil.
They would give it many extra points for "soul".

Thanks for the write-up, Wolfe. Are you going to add the auto-x comparo to this thread, or start a new one?
