Default Stupid question but my old mechanic

once told me that breaking the timing belt on a 951 wouldn't damage my valves or head...any opinions?

He's an idiot, and prolly wondering why your RX-7 looks so odd. :P

Though, wow... you let this person near your car... let alone work on it?!
944 = Interference Engine = Broken Belt =

These cars require someone who is knowledgeable in working on 944's. Not just german cars, not just porsche's, but 944s. At the least knowledge with the front engine porsches.

lol, this guy worked on my 83 na 944 for years and after a few shoddy repairs done on my 89 951 I stopped using him. The last time I used him was to replace my oil pan gasket which lasted about four months before the leak started again.

Is this the only thing that happened or did it get worse?

let me guess, instead of buying the new oil pan gasket, he spent $4.99 on RTV silicone and used that instead
