New project car with some custom work done (UPDATE: FOR SALE - $2100 obo)
#19
V2 lives in San Diego...a bit far to drive this weekend, and I have absolutely zero money right now. At the moment my life's savings consist of less than $20, so I can't afford another 944. lol

Ok, as promised, here are a couple update pics.
I fabbed up a couple quick headlight covers and some mounts for them, and threw them on there today. I modified some Rally foglights and installed them in the stock spaces (which they fill pretty nicely). I also wiped down the horribly guards red driver's inner door section, as well as the door jamb, and painted them black, along with the stripped rear seat area. I still have about half the interior to paint, and then I'll coat it once more for good measure, but these pics will show how the car will generally look after this weekend.
I installed the racing seat that goes with my "bumblebee" theme on the driver's side, and have re-dyed the full-leather passenger seat, but have yet to put it in along side the driver's seat.
I weighed the car yesterday at the shop on the scales... with 1/8 tank, the car (w/o driver) weighed in at 2618. It has 52/48 f/r distribution, and with driver as a 49.5% cross weight. A pretty damn good setup for an OE (sport) suspension car!
Enough rambling... here are some pics for yall. If I get the chip in this weekend, the car will see a little dyno time on Sunday.
Cheers!
Kevin

Dan, I'm just trying to finish up some of the uncompleted work, and then sell it to someone who can have some fun with it. I got it from a friend who had to dump it fast.
Borys, they are lexan. I made the bends by hand with a heat gun.
V2, as soon as you want it, come get it.
5speed300, well thanks, but up close the covers are just an "ok" solution. The lexan forming was done pretty quickly, and I didn't get the chance to make them as clean as I would have liked... but they certainly do their intended job.

Alright, updated pics and information for the sale...
I'll start with saying that this car is sold as a project car. The next owner will have to perform some work to get it into a light, trackable 944, or whatever they choose with the combo of custom work that has been done. The car was originally guards red, and the previous owner had it sprayed speed yellow, though the clear coat job was done horribly... it needs a full wetsand to get rid of the drips! I have sprayed the interior pieces (rear seat area, rear hatch area, and door jambs) gloss black, but I did not venture to paint the engine bay.
I adjusted the AFM tracks, replaced the fluids, battery, and fixed a problem with the DME relay. I cleaned the wheels (phone dials), but the left rear seems to have much of its coating coming off. I personally think they would look good stripped and painted black/yellow to go with the rest of the car's bumblebee theme.
The known upgrades are as follows:
*MSD Blaster 2 coil
*Cone-filter air intake
*Throttle response cam
*Headlight conversion to GT buckets with unknown "angel eye" lights
*Aftermarket driving lights
*Shaved door handles (with electronic pops actuated by a key fob) and rear hatch keyhole
*Recessed front bumper with shaved bumperettes.
*Relocated window switches to center console
*Black/yellow sport driver's seat
*Custom holes in front fenders for Euro side marker lights.
*Windows are tinted.
*Custom RS America/Cup type nylon-strap door pulls are going on tonight.
*944Max chip and dyno charts later this week.
Known problem areas remaining:
*Running lights on passenger side (as well as the driving light) don't work, along with one highbeam, and the rear running lights. I believe there is a bad round somewhere, but haven't confirmed it yet. If the lights run in series, one or two are missing, so that would explain it.
*Rear hatch shocks are worn out.
*Sunroof and mirrors are inop, as the switches are no where to be found.
*Sun visors were removed for some reason, by the previous owner- I have them, but one has a broken mirror.
*Odometer is inop.
*The passenger seat is a 4-way electric, 4-way manual seat... the front adjustment button is missing. The seat is currently out of the car, but will obviously be included with the car, and most likely back in the car when it is sold.
I'm asking $1900 obo as this car only needs minimal parts and some time to become a very nice, custom 944. The car is located in Norfolk, VA, and I would be happy to show it to any interested party.
Check out the pics, as well as the video of the electronic door pop, and feel free to PM me. **UPDATED: PICS MOVED TO FIRST POST***

Kevin

Will do, Keith. A fellow rennlister came to look at it today, in fact, but the most interested party comes tomorrow with cash-in-hand. I'll shoot you a message if he changes his mind.
