Any issues with cutting the speaker hole in the front doors?

Apparently 4" round speakers are wider than 4"x6" oval speakers, so I'm planning on trimming a small amount of the circle out so I can fit these speakers in. There any issues with hacking up the interior door metal?
Just wanted to make sure the car won't fall apart on me or anything...

Be careful - the door frame supports the control arm rear mount, as well as the rear license plate. Though the door sheet metal should be OK to cut, if you can live without 4 gear.

have no idea what frporsheman means, but the only thing you should have to worry about with the door speakers is depth. 4x6 or 4" doesn't matter. if they are too deep then you wont be able to roll the window down. Friend of mine who works for Alpine is trying to find the right 4x6 for mine cause the first 3 pairs we got the magnets were too deep.

Ok, thanks for the info. 4th gear was going rather slow on the freeway anyway, so I think I can live without it. The speaker won't have any depth issues (its the most shallow speaker I could find, only like 1.3" deep or something, with there being close to 1.75" of clearance), its just the ring is too wide to fit in the stock hole.
I'll take some pics today as I'm working on it so you can see what I'm talking about.

Arash failed to point out that on some of the cars that got away from the Audi plant, the entire torque tube was suspended by the speaker magnets.
Taking the speakers out, even temporarily, will cause catastrophic damage and/or nuclear holocaust.

You will find, the sound is way more than worth it.
