Default Knocking sound

I hear a knock or rattle when I accelerate with the car in gear. The knock sounds like it comes from behind me in the area of the exhaust or transmission. It's a rattle-like sound as if the door is ajar. The knock sounds in time with the engine RPMs, it speeds up as I accelerate. I only hearit with the car in gear, I don't hear it if I hit the gas in nuetral or with the clutch in. I don't think the muffler is loose.

Is it possible that something is wrong with the exhaust system or transmission?

Thanks in advance.

Probably CV joints failing, I need to replace mine as well.

It is most likely CV joints, I had mine replaced about 4 months ago.

Ditto

Drivers CV Joint.

Mine was banging on the right so I replaced both. You could see the discoloration of the burned bearing in the outer joint on the right side. Made a clicking sound also (at low speeds) as well documented on the net.

I've got an axle with 2 good joints on it if you want it for $50 plus shipping. LMK.
