Default This car is driving me nutz

So I blead the cooling system as described and it worked great. Take it for a ride and it gets hot as hell and no fan. Come home, it sits in the garage and the intermediate fan comes on when the car is shut off and when I turn the key on, both fans fire up and the gauge goes back to the center line. This is ten minutes after I get home. Is my fan temp sensor screwed or is my temp gauge pissing me off?

Peace

Martin

yes, I believe it has pissed you off.. however I don't think the gauge is the problem. My money would be on the sensor.
Although I am new to the 944 world, electric fans usually turn on upon startup, then shut down after a few mins. It has nothing to do with the heat or sensor.

This probably isn't your problem but when my sensor would peg max for no reason and the coolant was still cold, I discovered it was due to bad grounds from the battery. Just a thought, good luck

Todd157k,
In the Porsche world, fans on is ALWAYS to do with heat...

except when it is to do with the AC being on, or the sensor being broken, or the relay being fused, or there being low coolant,.... or the car just thinks it is a good idea.
