Default Temperature dilemma...

I took off the A/C compressor because it was shot, and mounted one of those spiffy alternator brackets in its place.

However, here in San Diego it can get especially warm...how the hell can I keep cool without the A/C? I open the windows but get nothing but more hot air blowing in....

And with the windows open its hard to hear my new $ound $ystem...

If you hunt around used ones can be found cheap at a good price. If you know how to do your own HVAC work this system is hardly difficult to overhaul. You'll need to flush it, get some new seals, a new dryer, that is assuming the rest of your system is good. I only paid $20 for a good used one.

Also somebody removed the A/C system and posted in that 944 weight savings spreadsheet thats been going around Rennlist... it was posted as only weighing 35lbs.
IMO in a hot city like SD its hardly worth losing it for that.

It sounds like you were already baking in the car if you decided to get rid of your a/c in san diego.

Seriously... put the A/C back on. Ask around and I am sure you can get spare A/C system from a 944 spec racer.

Warm in San Diego...
