Default what do you guys think of this idea

I have been thinking of different types of racks to put my car on so i can get the suspension all off but still be able to move it around. I was about to just buy a bunch of metal and weld up a sort of furnature dolley but one strong enough to set the front end of the car on.

but i got a better idea...

i am thinking about just getting 2 of these...

and attaching them right to the frame members in the engine bay. this way i will be able to roll the car around AND jack it up and down if i want to.

eh?

I'd think you'd need a minimum of 3....

Sounds like the engine is also out?

I think you'd be better off making something out of wood with some heavy duty casters (like a large furniture dolly made with 2x10"s or 2x12"s on edge) -- I but you could build something for about $50.

Double check the weight capacity of those jacks, the tongue on a trailer where this is normally located is normally pretty light.

well the box for the jacks says they hold 1300 lbs. and i would have 2 of them AND theres no engine or front suspension.

$50? where would i get metal for that cheap? or are you saying make something out of wood? I was originally trying to think of something i could bolt to the frame where the A-arm caster blocks bolt up. seems like a solid area of the frame.

i suppose i dont NEED to be able to roll it around.... i could just set the car down on a couple tree stumps from the back yard. last resort i guess. I really only need something to use while i paint the engine bay. I think i will for sure end up needing to move the car to the center of the garage for that though. which would mean just swinging the front end to the left about 10 feet.

How about a set of these?

Drop an 8x8 or 6x6 in the center, set the body, and you can roll, add a second set for the rear wheels and you can push the car around almost effortlessly.
