Working on the last components for the Supercharger project and I need only 1 last component so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has been using and using with success, a engine piggyback or entire management replacement.? Lots out there (Apex, SMS, Power Perfect, Mafterburner) but wanted some advice....any of these that are simply plug and play...Porsche harness in...piggyback harness to MAF? THANKS!

I can supply all of your engine management pieces. MAF + MAF software. You can add a PB for fine tuning.

I'm running an SMT-7 (perfect power) with 2-bar MAP sensor. Tuning is very easy with it, and the range of tunability is pretty good, and the software is decent.
However, running a MAP is a tad difficult because you're translating a linear signal from the MAP to a logarithmic signal input on the DME. Perhaps MAF sensors are more logarithmic and follow the stock AFM curve more closely.
There are no plug and play piggybacks, and the closest to this is the Maxtronic with his tuner, but I'm not sure if he has completed this yet. If you are up to doing some wiring, some creative Google work will help you find the factory manuals online, with the electrical diagrams to the DME. I have a sketch I made for the S2, but I don't think it would do you much good on an N/A DME.

Yes, I am thinking MAF is a bit easier as well. I like what you did though...takes guts! I see APEXi has a new system for German cars called S-AFC Select. You have to hard wire it to the ecu but with stand alone visual display, no need for laptops and retails for $459. Just wish I knew someone who has tried it...

I had an S-AFC in my car for a while. Dispite what people say it does work in our cars and it works well. In my opinion it is the best unit on the market. I have also used a power perfect it what simply archaic.

Thats what I am hearing. And at that price, seems to beat everyone in this market for what you get.... Hey,
black944 turbo , why did you stop using it ?

I bought a used standard S-AFC off e-bay and wired it up myself with some help from a few others on this board. I stopped using it because My maf kit and custom chip never worked together and when I set the a/fs back it was to big of an adjustment because the chip was so off that it messed up the maps a good bit.
