Kneepads? I was wondering if they were for when you get the tow bill after you break down? LOL

Speaking of tow bill, funny story.

When I bought my car, I drove out to pick it up with a friend of mine in his 1983 944. We picked it up in NorthEastern Ohio and started the drive back, two 944's caravanning down the highway. About 1/2 way home, his car started acting up, and then finally died near this little town somewhere just west of Columbus. We had about 60 miles to go to get back home. I picked him up and we got off at the exit, and went to what would pass as being the only gas station/garage in town. It was a Sunday. We parked my car out front and walked in, to see 4 or 5 ZZ-Top looking guys sitting on folding chairs watching a NASCAR race.

"Excuse me, but we need a tow to Dayton."

"Is it that Porch out front?"

"No, that one's just fine. The car we need towed is another Porsche broke down right near the exit on I-70."

"TWO PORSCHES?!?"

"Yes."

"OK, well I'll git the truck and follow you to the other one."

"Um, can you tell us how much it will be?"

"Oh..........its gunna cost ya. Its gunna cost ya a lot. "

Oh, and a spare DME Relay.
A space saver that does not fit over the brakes anymore is a MUST!
I have the same list of equipment.

On the topic of the non-fitting spare....If you blew out a front wheel could you put on a 17x9 rear and then put the spare back there?

Metric wrench / rachet set (spare 10 mm and 13mm).
Latex gloves, fast orange, rag, flashlight, Plenty'o'electric connectors (spade, etc), vacuum lines, some wire... That's all for now -- Really need a new dme relay, used my old one.

Amazing, I don't have a screwdriver, flathead or phillips. I have bits for the rachet though...

19MM socket, 1/2" ratchet, Porsche jack, electric airpump, space-saver spare, extra fuel relay, and a whole pile of fuses.

Yes, as long as the car was not lowered too much. I don't think I could get away with it.

Same here, and whatever tools slid under the passenger seat from the last time I worked on it.

I believe that it's supposed to fit "inside" of the compact spare tire's rim.

My air pump, along with its handy carrying case fits inside the spare wheel.

i guess that it's just a tight fit?

I don't have one personally. I've just seen other 944 guys have theirs in the wheel.
