I just got a quote from DAS for the 944 NA...Shipping from SF to MA is $755 open truck, on top (I didn't want to pay for "top" shipping - they charge you extra! - but the dude said there were no tow hooks on the car, which I'm investigating now.)

I'm not super-worried. I shipped a GS-R from CA to Seattle with them and also a Z4 back the other way. I had no complaints.

If you can wait a few months, I'll drive it for you. You'd have to pay for expenses (gas & motels) and fly me back home, but I have friends in Pittsburgh I could visit for a few days, and IO expect to have some free time in a few months. You probably wouldn't save that much money, but the car will be taken care of. I know it's a weird offer, but I figured I'd throw it out there; PM me if you're interesterd.
