Default Trade 16" 993 wheels (7&9) for 16" 968 wheels (7&8)

I have a set of the 16" 993 wheels (two 16x7 and two 16x9) that I would trade for a set of 16" 968 wheels (must be 16x7 and 16x8, I can't use 6" fronts). My wheels are not mint, and have some scratches. I'll take photos tomorrow.

I'm using these for snow tires on a 993, and 9" wheels are too wide for the 225/50-16 tires I want to use on the back.

Cool. I've been toying with the idea of getting some new rims, but have been looking at cup II's mostly. But who knows!

I also have a set of those. I just bought this car, and the 17" cups were used for snow tires, and are scratched up from being carelessly stacked over the years. I'll take photos of those, too.

Of course, if you use the 16" wheels, you can keep your existing tires.

Where are you in Ohio, I'm in Cincinnati.

i'm about 30 min east of Columbus, and 15 min north of Lancaster. I live in a small college town with a few other 'listers.

Maybe we can work out SOME sort of deal then...

Your wheels are 7's and 8's, right?

In good shape?

I think so, but i'd have to check.

Good shape. Not concours. they have a few apint scratches, but nothing bad/major.

I may still be interested in the cup II's though. Would you consider just selling any of them?

Wait, turbo cup car...did you happen to go to the 'taj last year for the rennlist meet?

Yeah, I was up at Mr. Dixon's place, a few photos of my car are in this post
https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...&postcount=186

I'm definitely going to sell or trade both the 993 16" wheels and the 17" cup wheels, but not until I get a set of the 7 and 8 968 wheels for snows. I'm also going to sell a set of 18" Sport Design wheels with tires (came on my 993), and probably a beatup set of the very rare magnesium Turbo Cup wheels (8 and 9 by 16). Also two 6" design 90 wheels, not that anybody wants those...

I've got a new set of 16" snow tires sitting here for my C4 waiting for wheels to mount them on!

HAHA! i thought i remembered your car from there. Ironically, you can see my rims in the 1st and 2nd pics.

Cool. I'm interested in the wheels. (pm me with a price list if you'd like to...) but will have to think about the trade a little more. (at least untill you post some pics up) so no rush.

The widths and offsets of your wheels will be cast in small letters next to the tire valve.

Do you mean on the inside of the rim? Because they are mounted right now...

The width is next to the valve stem on most of the 16' inch wheels. I think the 7x16 D90's only have it cast on the inside.

If Nelson passes on the CupII wheels, maybe i can work something out with you for a set of them. As of saturday i will have 3 sets of the 968 5-spokes. I am keeping four of the 16x8 wheels for the track and will have a full set of 16x7's which are spoken for. Maybe i can work something out for my other set.

And Paul, post the 16x6 D90's up on VWVortex. The V-dub guys love the D90's and the 7-slot sewer lids.

I just checked: they are 8-52 rears and 7-55 fronts. So they ARE the 8" and 7" that you need.

I had no idea that the widths are right there. That's quite helpful!

Hey- I just got a line on a set of 968 wheels at a used parts place.

If you want to keep your 16's and just want to consider buying my 993 16's or my 17" Cups, let me know...
