Default Wondering..

would power locks off a later model work in an early NA?

Is there room in the door? And what kind of wiring would be needed?

The later doors had all the holes and whatnot for the lock actuators. The only thing you needed to change was the portion of the striker plate inside the door with one from a car equipped with central locking. Also you need the wire harness, the plug for it is already in the dash.

Early cars do not have the mounting holes, but you can just as easily drill a hole into the door and bolt them up. I think you would be better off getting a universal type kit and installing them. The later cars its easy to retrofit as all the wiring is already behind the dash...not the case with a early car.

I would go aftermarket. You can get an entire kit with actuators & remote entry for under $40. Easy to install on our cars.

Would you mind posting some comments/pictures of that install. The one thing I really miss on my car.
