Default 4k 951 on CL (Sacramento)

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/277867819.html

No affiliatons.. blah blah blah. Depending on the extent of the engine damage, this could be a hell of a deal.

LSD tranny? That might make it worthwhile for someone to go and take a look at (not me, though...).

Lart just mentioned it in the 951 forum:

I am interested but the kid doesn't have the title because he is financing the car, that's the only drag.

I'd buy it, if I was over there. Too bad my dork of a brother isn't into Porsches, but VWs.

Have him get it for you and then part it during the summer?

Hmm...

Nah, if my brother comes home with another car, my mom will cut his thumbs off without asking for an explanation. I really want another car, but I don't want a third red one, so I can wait.

I live here and wouldn't buy it at $4K. It has the undesirable driven hard, put away wet option.

It's probably worn out anyways. That car looks beat. Looks to have had the rear end resprayed as well. Accident?

if he dropped the price to 3K I might think about trailiering it home, I like the idea of building my own car. How do you know its been resprayed, I see evidence of bad waxing on the back, but thats it.

If anyone is truly interested in the car I can check it out and take some better pics. If there is anything specific you would like find out, let me know. I can check for matching vin #'s, option codes, etc. Maybe he will let me jack up the rear to check for LSD if it's not listed on the rear code sticker.

I get that feeling too. The pics have that feel that you get standing there on the used car lot, seeing shiny paint and shiny leather but you can somehow FEEL the aura of "used and abused" coming off the car.

There's still hope for it yet. Someone with love and deep pockets needs to pick it up (for less than $4K...) and bring it back from the brink. Not me.

Same here. I would never buy a car that I cannot test drive unless you're prepared for the worst.
