Wheels Problem?
Hi Guys. I have an annoying problem. I want to change the wheels on my 924 Turbo but don't know what to put on it. At the moment is has the factory abs turbo wheels which I really hate. I have got some 928 trash can style wheels which i know will fit but what would they look like and would it look any good. Can you guys post some pics of your wheels on your 924, 924 turbos. If you have the trash cans on yours a pic of that would be very helpful aswell as I have those wheels already so if I like the look than thats great as it will only cost me the tyres for them and I can get those cheap through work. Thanks guys.

Yeah, D90's look sharp, pretty modern... here's the trashcans (these are the stock 16x6's):

I have trashcans on one of my 931's too, and all I can say is polish them first, they look spectacular after you do.
I am also a big BBS fan so I have these scheduled for use this summer on the same 931 (16X6)

Hi gratian. Yeh, it is a very annoying problem ay mate. Yeh d90's do look cool , wish I had some in the garage instead of the trashcans.
924RACR, thanks for the pic mate. Thats the same colour as my car aswell so it's a perfect picture for me to imagine now. They don't look to bad I guess. Hmmm, what to do?
NEMESIS924, wouldn't you know it? My trashcans are polished.
Another annoying prob with the trash cans is one of them is damaged from being a hero. Yes, thats correct, he is a hero. He saved my 911 one day. I had my 911 jacked up without a stand set up (I know, i know) but it was only for 5 minutes, anyway my jack was faulty and gave way and down came the 911 onto the right rear brake disc and was just about to hit the floor when the good old trashcan wheel I had put under there cos I kept on falling over it all the time stopped the car from hitting the floor but unfortunately the 911 decided to show the trashcan how heavy it was and kinda put a nasty gouge through the centre of it. So it was kinda like, Oh **** the 911 is going to fall off the jack, then Ah, the trashcan wheel saved it, then oh ****, look what the 911 has done to the trashcan. Oh well I can't have it both ways I guess. A damaged trash can is better than broken 911 brake disc etc. Great story though ay guys? Guys?? Wheres everyone gone?

Caveat - I am by no means a wheel or fitment expert, but I vaguely recollect reading somewhere that some '80s Ford Mustang wheels were a perfect fit for the 924. If true, this would open up some possibilities for aftermarket Mustang wheels fitting the 924, too. (this was about two decades ago, so take with a grain of salt).
This may have only applied to the 4-bolt early 924 (surprisingly, my recollection of what I read 2 decades ago isn't all that reliable )
