I did that on my first car, was dead easy. Just get some plastic paint (the type they sell for models, the brush on type) Brush it into the recess, don't worry about getting it on the top. Put the paint thinner that they sell in the model section on a rag or paper towel (damp, not sopping) and wipe over the top to remove everything not in the pattern.
