Default shipping trans from Cali?

on another car forum (for Honda Preludes) i found a guy with a rebuilt 944 NA trans believe it or not. he lives in Cali (not sure where off the top of my head) but said he would sell it to me just for the price of shipping to Cincinnati.
anyone ever ship a trans this far? how much should it cost?
and if no one knows, perhaps someone knows how much a trans weighs? I'm assuming it would have to go on a skid and be freighted.

Last month I shipped a G50 tranny from Massachusetts to Cali. It cost $288. I strapped it to a pallet and dropped it off at the freight forwarder's yard. Try www.freightquote.com for the best prices.
