Default gallon/bhp/hr for 944 engines?

I am going to undertake the computer modelling of the 944 engine in Ricardo WAVE, and I have a question for the dyno guys.

I am looking to find the specific fuel consumption rate of the 944 engine based on output, a spec that is commonly seen on industrial, marine, and aircraft engines.

If anyone has this info that would be great, otherwise I will do a crude estimate based off of drag and EPA fuel economy specs.

Thanks!

Bump, this sounds interesting.

Strange hobby

What do you plan on doing with it once it's modeled?

Well first I am going to turn in the model! This if for a class I am taking called ME661: Theory and Control of Internal Combustion Engines
I also plan to try some things out in the simulation, such as perhaps different cam profiles, intake exhaust and head geometry, and others. I will be validating the model agaisnt actual outputs of the engine.

Ever look into the gas speed of the engine? I read this article a while back (from the hilarious Army of Darkness motorcycle racing team) and found it very interesting:

There are a number of people on the turbo boards that might be able to help you, id post there as well.

I will help you if I can.
Tell me what to record.

My engine/head is a pig at high power.
11.8:1 AFR at 6000 RPM at +/- 600 HP.

What do you need to do the math for the results you are looking for?

To do the math I need
fuel consumption rate (volume or weight per time) along with the horsepower created at that consumption rate.

If I had the facilities, the ideal setup would be to have the engine on an engine brake dyno, a constant output. I would then record the fuel consumption rate at that constant output. The formula is pretty simple, it is the consumption rate divided by the horsepower to get (weight/time)/power.

This is one of the specs that I would use to verify the model. I will keep everyone posted as the model progresses.
