Exclamation Weird Noises (from the suspension)

i've got a few noises that concern me-

one is when i'm backing out of a space and i'm at full lock (one way or another), it sounds like my steering or suspension "buckles" and then it feels like one wheel goes over a rock and gets kinda........discombobulated for a sec.

when i straighten out, everything's fine, but i've been noticing this, and it kinda worries me.

is this something to do with the steering rack or the suspension?

it's usually on the right side.

second- when i'm driving down the road, and i hit like.......20-30 mph, and i take the car out of gear, i hear kind of like a.........sound like plastic marbles in a metal box. if that makes any sense.

the sound moves from the front to the back of the car on the right side, and i cant ever pinpoint it.

i was going to put the car on jackstands this week and rotate every wheel to see if i could hear it from the outside, because when i roll down my windows to try and hear it, i cant pinpoint it anymore.

it used to sound like it was above my head and in the rear on the driver's. side, but now it's moved to the passenger side.

very well could be any of the junk that i've got in the hatch compartments, but i doubt it.

any help, or any hints as to where to start looking appreciated.

ok, i did some more driving, and it sounds like a heat shield is loose and rattling against something, but it's ONLY between 20-35mph.

sometimes i can kind of hear it before 20mph, or a little after 35 (almost down to 15 and up to 40 respectively), but i dont have any of the belly pans on!

smooth roads help, but rougher roads make it worse.

i have absolutely no idea what it could be.

i was recently under there for an oil change, and i rotated the wheels and got no sound (at least none that i could hear)

i banged on stuff with the ratchet (not very hard) and i couldnt hear anything.

it's like.......it's on the driver's side, but the sound moves from the footwell to right behind my head.

i'm completely and i'm about to have my mechanic look at it before this drives me insane.

any other ideas?

btw- in gear, out of gear, clutch in, clutch out, no difference.

turning makes it a little worse, i think, but i cant substantiate that because i never have time to check this.

if i go over something REALLY bumpy, afterwards it'll be worse, then it'll go back to "normal" (which is still making noise)

Maybe the heat shield between the exhaust manifold and the oil filter? Mine had a broken mount and rattled occasionally, so I removed it. It rattled more at idle though due to the engine vibration, so probably not it, but worth checking.

that might be it. i'm thinking it could be a rouge heat shield somewhere. i know the starter heat shield is pretty loose, but it's louder than that.

i'm gonna start checking dust shields and heat shields this weekend or next.
