Holy **** Batman!

That's great news! I still think you ought to throw some 5W30 in there though!

So happy to hear your 924S is alive and well. I've always liked that car and it broke my heart to hear you were selling it. Beware her scorn though! She knows you were going to sell her and she may very well decide to take it out on you in bad ways. . . Make your peace with her now!

Glad to hear it man!

Glad to hear your car is OK!

I am a fan of Shell Rotella T synthetic 5w-40 from Wal Mart. For a Turbo driven hard I used to use Mobil 1 (not sure if I will continue) but in many of my high revving NA motors (and my not so high revving Ducati) I run Rotella T Synth. I have been running it in my Audi A8 and have driven a lot in the very cold temps we have been enjoying, no problems.

I hate old 944 lifters. They scare the porsche out of me when after I've been working on the car for a long time (like a week or two) I turn on the car, hoping everything is OK and it won't blow up, and I hear those damn lifters that sound like all the bearings have spun.

Get a stethoscope next time it makes scary noises. Glad to hear everything is OK and you're keeping it!

Glad to hear that your car is ok. Hopefully we will see you on the track with your car as a spec car. Once again, I am glad you figured out the problem. Jim

I'm guessing I blew the oil out of the lifter... I'm gonna replace at least one of em... gonna pull off the cam tower and take a look.

and I did have a stethescope... it just sounded like the bottom end...

Congrats Geoff, it would've been a shame to see the old girl go. I think you ought to treat her to some new seat covers, you know, kinda like make-up sex :-)

LOL. I'm thinking belt rollers...

if it's not one thing with this car, it's another. Unfotunately she's fallin into a bit of a state of disrepair since I started working.... so I need to rebuild the power steering pump, and now, replace the rollers in the balance shaft system. they were whining at me, and today, I think one seized, and caused either the balance shaft to jump a couple teeth, or something, but now it vibrates like mad... so, I'm gonna disconnect the balance shafts until those rollers come in... they are on order...

and once again, the 924S proves, that I need to show her more love through my wallet.

Lesson 2 from all of this... Never changing the rollers when it's recommended at every other belt change, yeah. do change the rollers... (on the plus side, these have lasted nearly 20 years)

Geoff has some of the only stock in the USA, until Travis finally comes online with production.
Ask anybody who was at 944Fest about it, yes, even XBoost!
And I much prefer Wallaby Wash to Rhino **** thank you!
