Default 1988 into an '83

My main car is my 83 944, but I also have an 88 944 N/A half apart. Would the 88 engine be worth rebuilding and putting in my 83 using the 83's top end and computer system?
If not would there be any kind of a worthy gain from using the 88's camshaft in my 83's engine?

I cant decide what i want to do with my 88 yet though, its in nice shape and just needs the engine redone along with some interior. I can either restore it and sell it or I can take all the good peices and put the frame of the car in a junkyard.
What do some of you think I should do with the '88?
If I rebuilt it, what kind of a price range would I be looking at if I decided to sell it?
1988 944 N/A Needs engine rebuild and the interior needs to be completely redone.

I'd become a member and put it up for sale as is. 88's are desirable as spec racers. If it needs both an engine rebuild and an interior that's really the only sensible market.

The 88 motor will give you better performance than your '83, but the question is will you notice the difference? To get the full effect you'll need to use the pistons, cam, afm and dme from the 88. If there's nothing really wrong with your '83 I'd just enjoy it as is.
